Handmade Chains
Most
chains are offered in a basic length, which sits around
the base of the average neck, and this is the length
for which the price is given. As an optional extra,
you may also have a further 2 (or more, if you wish)
links, with a second closure, which you can then add
or remove whenever you wish, to lengthen the chain,
either to suit a low neckline or to go round a high
one. You can also add a bracelet to your neck chain
(excepting "Lyrical" and "Buttercup")
and make a chain 61/2" to 71/2" longer.
"Peacock" and "Leaf" For either
of these two chains, it is generally best to use a
tape measure to measure where you want your chain
to sit (taking hollows and "salt cellars"
into consideration) and then the correct number of
links can be worked out . These chains are charged
by the link - usually 15-17.
If your neck is smaller or larger than average, then
of course the correct length of any choice can be
made for you, priced accordingly.
Matching earrings are also available.

If
the length given is not right for you, then
I can adjust it by 1 or 2 inches as I make
it to your order. Alternatively, I can make
you a chain with an extra link on each side
(and, again, adjust the length if necessary).
The price will alter accordingly, for the
extra links, of course.
N.B. Stud earrings (1 medium leaf) for either
chain: Silver £20; 9 ct £70
It is also possible for me to make your chain
with the extra 2 links, for a special occasion
such as your wedding, remove them afterwards
and turn them into drop earrings for you.
In the "language of flowers", Ivy
is the symbol for marriage. This chain, in
both silver and gold, has proved to make beautiful
Bridal jewellery, and, so far, since May '06,
2 entire weddings have been designed around
the Ivy theme.
